PUMPKIN SAMBAR
Whenever i cook this sambar , i remember my perima yummy pumpkin sambar.. During my college days, i used to stay with my perima..She used to make this yummy pumpkin sambar...
Sambar is a dish where everyone make it on their style..each vegetable give sambar different dimension of taste.. Pumpkin sambar is very simple but very tasty ..
Ingredients:
- Yellow pumpkin - 1/4 kg
- Onion -2 no
- Tomato - 1 no
- Tamarind paste
- Green chilli - 2 no
- Tumeric powder
- Chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Toor dal - 1 cup
- Corriander leaves
- Curry leaves
- Musturd seeds
- Asafoetidia
- Jaggery
Preparation:
- Pressure cook the toor daal with garlic ,cumin seeds,asafoetidia
- In the sauce,add oil then add musturd seeds ,curry leaves and asafoetidia
- Saute well the onion ,chilli and tomato..
- Then add tumeric powder, chilli powder and salt according to your taste
- Saute well till the raw taste disappears
- Add pumpkin..mix well.. add water.. let it cook well
- Add daal and tamarind paste..
- At the end add little jaggery , this will enhance the taste
